Orange, at the crossroads of interstate A7 (to Italy) and A9 (to Spain), makes it a gateway to the South of France and the South of Europe: Avignon, city of the popes is only 30 minutes away, St. Tropez and the the French Riviera at 2:30H,

 

For the lovers of music, dance, theatre, and cultural festivals: the Chorégies of Orange inside the Roman theatre of Orange, the festival of Avignon, Liszt in Provence at the château St. Estève in Uchaux, the Jazz festival of Orange or ‘Jazz in the vineyards’ in the different villages around Orange are not to be missed.

 

To visit the Provencial markets of Vaison la Romaine, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, or Uzès, and the numerous wine estates of Châteauf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueras, Beaumes de Venise, and so on…..

 

Sightseeing in the Luberon (Gordes, Roussillon, Lourmarin, and so on …), discovering the Baux de Provence or St. Remy de Provence or exploring the Gorges de l’Ardèche by kayak.

 

A must for the cyclists enthousiasts is a trip around the Dentelles de Montmirail and the ascent of the Mont Ventoux.

 

For the golf lovers : the golf course ‘le moulin’ of Orange (9 holes) is less than 2 miles away from the Mas Li Doumenge and further away Avignon has some superb and challenging golf courses.

 

The Provence can also be admired by hot-air balloon (France Montgolfières) or by helicopter (Heli club du Ventoux).
